A New York man serving a life sentence for murder has confessed to the 1994 shooting of late rapper Tupac Shakur; the same shooting that sparked ?Pac?s infamous feud with East Coast rival Notorious B.I.G.

Dexter Isaac tells AllHipHop.com that Brooklyn thug-turned-hip-hop manager James ?Jimmy Henchmen? Rosemond hired him to carry out the robbery and subsequent shooting in front of The Quad recording studio in Manhattan 17 years ago. Isaac alleges Rosemond, who manages Mike Tyson, The Game, and Sean Kingston, paid him $2,500 for the attack ?plus all the jewelry? from the robbery, except for a diamond ring that Rosemond tohis girlfriend.

Rosemond ? who has a storied history with the law that dates back to the mid-?80s ? turned himself into authorities last month after a federal arrest warrant was issued for his arrest stemming from his alleged involvement in a cocaine distribution ring. He?s always vehemently denied any involvement in the Tupac Shooting and has alleged that Isaac is a police informant. Isaac, on the other hand, says it was the accusation of cooperating that drove him to come clean about the Tupac shooting.

?How dare you call me an informant! I have stayed silent in prison for the past 13 years, doing a life sentence like a real soldier should, when you and everybody have turned your backs on me,? Isaac said in a written statement. ?I want to apologize to (Shakur?s) family and for the mistake I did for that sucker,? he added. ?I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure.?

Tupac sustained five gunshot wounds in the incident but later made a full recovery. He was killed in a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas strip in Sept. 1996. His murder remains unsolved.

The ?All Eyez on Me? rapper would have turned 40 on Thursday.
