Liam Neeson will reprise his role of Ra's al Ghul in "The Dark Knight Rises," the final movie in Christopher Nolan's trilogy starring Christian Bale, Variety reports. Sources told the trade publication that Mr. Neeson, first seen as a mysterious mentor in "Batman Begins," has already filmed a scene in London.
More than 6,000 people applied to be extras last weekend for the movie, which shoots in Pittsburgh this summer. Open casting calls for extras for "Magnus Rex" (its working title) continue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. along with Sunday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.
Hopefuls, who must be 18 or older with a valid Social Security number and photo ID, should go to the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown, and use the Oliver Street entrance. Or just look for the line.
Penguins on parade
A couple of African penguins are taking road trips Saturday in honor of "Mr. Popper's Penguins."
The National Aviary will bring a penguin to each of the lobbies of the Cranberry Cinemas in Cranberry and Waterworks Cinemas near Fox Chapel from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
