Sundance Goes Crazy For ‘Like Crazy’

A film about young lovers in a long-distance relationship called "Like Crazy" was awarded the grand jury prize for a U.S. drama at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Its star, Felicity Jones, also received a special jury prize for acting in the movie.

America Ferrera presented the acting award to Jones, who was not in attendance at the Saturday night ceremony, saying "the 2011 Sundance Film Festival will go down as the year of the actress."

Peter Jackson ‘Doing Well’ After Surgery

"The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" director Sir Peter Jackson is in stable condition in the intensive care unit of Wellington Hospital after surgery for a perforated ulcer.

Publicist Melissa Booth said Monday that Jackson was "doing well" but would be in the hospital for at least a few more days. She said doctors expect Jackson to make a full recovery.

Hooper Earns Top DGA Prize For ‘King’s Speech’

Tom Hooper pulled off an upset win Saturday for the top film honor at the Directors Guild of America Awards for his British monarchy tale "The King's Speech."

Hooper won out over David Fincher for "The Social Network," who had been considered the favorite for Hollywood's main directing prizes, including the Academy Award on February 27.

British Actor Henry Cavill Cast As Superman

British actor Henry Cavill is going up, up and away.

Cavill will star as Superman (and, obviously, Clark Kent) in the next installment of the movie franchise. Warner Bros. Pictures announced the casting Sunday.
