He may have had Walden Pond on the edge of the wilderness but he didn’t have our comfortable beds with plush pillows to lay his transcendentalist head upon after a long day of pursuing his philosophical endeavors.
Castle Rock State Park and Lowden Miller State Forest may offer some enlightenment but they also offer pursuits in more practical arenas as well; think hiking, canoeing, picnicking even hunting and fishing.
Both parks offer hunting for squirrel, deer and turkey. For deer and turkey there are the seasons for firearms and archery. For those of you interested in hunting deer the really old fashion way Castle Rock State Park offers Muzzleloader season for Deer in mid-December.
All nature lovers will can enjoy the over 25 miles of maintained trails between the two areas. During the warmer months people can hike and take in the natural beauty. When the cold snow comes, take out those alpine skis and enjoy the trails all over again.
Pack your bags, putting on some hiking shoes, and head to the Comfort Inn & Suites while visiting Castle Rock State Park and Lowden Miller State Forest.

Something that I didn’t think much about before I began at TCO was the remote audience. The remote audience are the people who do not attend an event but view the event through media at a later stage. An important part of event amplification.
One of the best examples I saw of this was Diet Coke's Real Woman. It was before my time at TCO. They were tasked with filming the Rosemount Fashion Week for Diet Coke, instead of just filming the event they chose to create a story out of the event - 'Real Woman (watch the 2min video here)'. They found a girl of the street and made her into a catwalk model for one day. A more compelling story for the remote audience.
Another good example is Dr.Pepper's Chatroulette Cheerleader - (Zac has a good post on short term activity too)
