The Rochelle IL. Comfort Inn & Suites is where to stay while visiting the Firehouse Museum.
At the corner of Main Street and 5th Avenue, The Rochelle Firehouse Museum is a historic landmark in Rochelle Illinois. This fantastic museum highlights Rochelle’s firefighting history. The Firehouse began with one simple piece of equipment: a hose cart that was moved by four firemen. In fact, this piece of equipment can even be seen in movies as it was sold to Century Fox in 1935.
The museum also houses some very unique items from the town’s firehouse history. In 1912 the firehouse began to acquire more equipment, the first of which was an American LaFrance chemical fire truck. One of these restored American LaFrance Fire Trucks (purchased in 1924) resides at the Firehouse Museum today. Later in the evening come by and hit the button at the Museum to see the town’s first water pumper, Gertie.
So come stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites Rochelle after spending the day at this unique historical museum.
