Sony Pictures Television has hired Kim Rozenfeld as executive VP of current programming.
The studio confirmed Rozenfeld is stepping into a role that has been vacant since February 2010, when Sony laid off Jeanie Bradley as part of layoffs at the company.
Rozenfeld comes to Sony from a production deal at ABC Studios, where his Half Full Entertainment had set up skein "Huge" for ABC Family. He produced there after being laid off in 2009 as senior VP and head of current programming at ABC.
The appointment marks a return to Sony for Rozenfeld, who began his career at Columbia TriStar TV. He's also worked at VH1.
SPT's current series include returning comedy "Rules of Engagement" and new dramas "Pan Am" and "Charlie's Angels."

The Bronx, New York man was arrested last week for threatening to handle his grief over WPIX-TV?s frequent broadcast of Two and a Half Men reruns with the help of a bomb. Caldwell?s facing charges of aggravated harassment and falsely reporting an incident after he allegedly called WPIX New York, twice this month threatening to blow the station up if it kept airing reruns of TV?s most-watched situation comedy.

Cops in New York City traced the calls to Caldwell?s home and picked him up on Friday. It?s unclear what Caldwell has against Men, which will return with original episodes this fall. The show will feature That ?70s Show alum Ashton Kutcher taking over the vacancy left when embattled star Charlie Sheen was fired from the show in March following a dispute with producers.

'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' has outgrossed MJ's 'This Is It' in U.S.

Michael Jackson may have dubbed himself the King of Pop, but the late icon didn't hold the box-office crown for long. Less than a year after the posthumous MJ documentary "This Is It" became the most successful concert-themed film in U.S. history, Justin Bieber is poised to snatch the mantle.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" has earned $72.2 million in domestic box office so far, passing Jackson's $72.1 million haul. And while Bieber has racked up those impressive numbers in just six weeks, he's got a long way to go before he laps the global receipts for the MJ doc.

"This Is It" has grossed $189.1 million overseas for a global total of $261.2 million. Music films don't typically play well overseas, and THR noted that "Never Say Never" has grossed a more modest $10.8 million overseas so far, with Paramount executives predicting that it could top out around $20 million internationally.

The impressive U.S. numbers were likely goosed by the re-release of the film recently with 40 additional minutes of bonus footage from director Jon M. Chu. Bieber still has a little way to go to climb the list of the top-grossing documentaries of all time. "Never Say Never" is currently stalled out at the #3 position, around $5 million behind "March of the Penguins," according to Box Office Mojo, and well short of the all-time record held by Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11," which has taken in $119.1 million to date.

Bieber set off a classic MJ-style fan frenzy a few weeks ago when he visited Liverpool, England, for his world tour. And just a week later, he posed with his new wax figure at London's Madame Tussauds, checking off another item on the list of milestones to an MJ-like career.

MTV's Sneak Peek Week kicked off in fine fang-led form Monday night (May 30) with a special sneak preview screening of the highly anticipated vampire horror comedy "Fright Night." The lucky audience members in attendance were not only treated to the screening more than two months ahead of the film's release, but also took part in a lively Q&A session with star Christopher Mintz-Plasse and director Craig Gillespie.

Gillespie's re-telling of the 1985 classic drew gasps and laughs from the crowd, as did the lively repartee between Mintz-Plasse and Gillespie during the post-screening conversation.

"I thought it was great," attendee Jessi Lederer told MTV News. "It was funny and frightening and the 3-D was actually really cool. It was the perfect amount of everything. I thought it was great."

Dominic Ceroni agreed with Lederer's sentiments."Going into it, I thought it wasn't going to be very good, since there are so many remakes these days," he admitted. "I went into it with low expectations and it far exceeded them. Chris [Mintz-Plasse] is a sexy vampire; I'm not gonna lie," he said with a wink.

"I really liked it," added Bobby Graham. "I liked a lot of the dialogue. You could tell where they improv'd a little. The actors had great chemistry together," he said. "I will definitely go to see it again in theaters, and I'm definiteley going to be bragging about this for the next two months."

The film stars Colin Farrell as a bloodthirsty vampire who heads to suburbia and terrorizes his next-door neighbor Charlie, played by "Star Trek" veteran Anton Yelchin. Mintz-Plasse plays vampire convert "Evil" Ed Thompson; "Harry Potter" alum and former "Doctor Who" David Tennant is vamp-hunting showman Peter Vincent; and "Solitary Man" breakout Imogen Poots portrays love interest Amy, with Toni Collette and Dave Franco also popping up.

Mintz-Plasse, Gillespie and "Fright Night" are just the beginning of our lead into the Movie Awards. The five-day mini film fest is a week of special screenings designed to keep building the excitement for our annual, unpredictable and always-entertaining event.

Tuesday's screening is "The Art of Getting By," followed by a Q&A with stars Emma Roberts, Elizabeth Reaser, Michael Angarano and director Gavin Wiesen. Wednesday night, we'll screen "Horrible Bosses," with Jason Bateman and director Seth Gordon. Thursday night is "The Help," with Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard, and Friday is "30 Minutes or Less" with Aziz Ansari, Michael Pena and Ruben Fleischer.

SEATTLE — When Ben Gibbard first moved to Seattle, he spent most of his time wishing he could just go back to Bellingham, Washington. That was where he had gone to school (Western Washington University) and where, sometime around 1997, he had formed Death Cab For Cutie (whose new album, Codes and Keys, is out Tuesday, May 31). And it was with his bandmates that he had packed up and moved 90 miles south, to the Emerald City, in the hopes of making it as an honest-to-goodness professional rock-and-roll band.

Only, things didn't really work out that way, not at first, anyway. For the first time in their career, the guys in Death Cab were scattered — back in Bellingham, they lived together in a shabby rental on Ellis Street — and the band lost focus because of it. But there was also another factor at play: the cloying advance of early adulthood, which meant making music took a back seat to rather soul-crushing endeavors like working low-paying jobs. Or, in Gibbard's case, the eternal search for said gigs.

So, when he first took up residence in Seattle, in an apartment building on Corliss Avenue North in the Wallingford neighborhood, times weren't exactly great. He poured over help-wanted ads (the inspiration for the DCFC tune "The Employment Pages"), got turned down for a job at a local hardware store and fretted about the status of the band. But mostly, he just missed the easy life back in Bellingham.

"I was literally just going and applying for jobs, and I couldn't get a job, and I was getting more and more broke, and you find yourself groveling for jobs you don't even want," Gibbard said. "So I wrote a lot of songs [here] about Bellingham and how much I missed [it], because I wanted to go back to the life we had up there, because it was so much more simple than this."

And those themes were reflected in the songs he wrote in the Corliss apartment — songs that would eventually become the band's second and third albums, 2000's We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes and 2001's The Photo Album. At the time, Death Cab were in a state of flux, struggling to make the leap from local band to touring act, and they had moved to Seattle to help facilitate that transition. But living in the city (and lacking a steady drummer) was actually making that dream hard to achieve.

"When we moved to Seattle, everybody kind of disappeared into different corners of the city and it was a very difficult time for the band," Gibbard explained. "It was a time where ... there was the possibility we might break up or stop playing music. So, yeah, it was kind of difficult."

Which is why it's somewhat fitting that Gibbard and bassist Nick Harmer chose the apartment as the first stop on their guided tour of Seattle, a week-long trek we've dubbed "Death Cab for Cutie: Seattle Sonics." where they struggled with doubt, where Gibbard wrote "some of [his] favorite Death Cab songs" and where they came through the dark times and eventually put it all together, becoming one of the decade's most acclaimed — and successful — indie acts. Shoot, they even managed to overcome the building's lack of a buzzer, thanks to some fishing line and bells, as you'll see in the piece.

For all intents and purposes, Death Cab's career begins here, in a brick building on Corliss and 45th Street. And it continues with Codes and Keys, which is very much about the search for home, wherever that may be. So, without further ado, we'll let you watch Gibbard and Harmer take you on a tour of the place ... and the very fancy Taco Time just up the block, too.

Singer 'is aware of what is going on around him,' rep tells MTV News, as Kingston's jet-ski companion says she urged him to stop.

Sean Kingston remains hospitalized in critical condition and hooked up to a ventilator with a tube inserted in his throat after a jet-ski accident in Miami, but his rep tells MTV News, "He is aware of what is going on around him," adding that the singer "is sedated but fully conscious."

Jackson Memorial, the hospital where Kingston is being treated, also issued this statement to MTV: " Sean Kingston is currently in critical but stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Sean's family asks for privacy at this time but is thankful to his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes."

On Sunday, Kingston and a female passenger crashed his Sea Doo jet-ski into the Palm Island Bridge at approximately 6 p.m. ET. After being rescued by an off-duty Coast Guard employee, the pop star was taken to the trauma center at Jackson Memorial, but has since been moved to the intensive care unit. TMZ spoke to Kingston's rescuer, who said that Sean was "puking up blood out of his mouth." Another witness told the site he noticed a gash under Kingston's chin after the crash.

Cassandra Sanchez, Sean's friend and passenger on the jet-ski at the time of the accident, has since been discharged from the hospital, Kingston's rep confirmed to us. Sanchez also spoke to the gossip site, telling them Kingston tried to turn away from the bridge but was going "really fast" and couldn't avoid the crash. Sanchez also said that as Kingston was maneuvering toward the bridge, she urged him to stop and screamed out, "We can't fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!"

That's the tagline for director David Fincher's highly anticipated big-screen adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, starring Rooney Mara as feisty computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as idealistic journalist Mikael Blomkvist. A new red band teaser trailer (apparently pirated) announces that Dragon Tattoo, which hits theaters Dec. 21, will be the "feel bad movie of Christmas" -- and drives that point home with 99 seconds of gritty, glorious footage. Watch the trailer below!

Though a Swedish trilogy of films based Stieg Larsson's best-selling Millennium book series has already grossed more than $157 million worldwide, expectations for the new American version are extremely high.

Fincher, known for directing taut, edgy films such as Fight Club, Zodiac and last year's mega-hit The Social Network (in which Mara played the memorable role of Mark Zuckerburg's girlfriend), seems a perfect fit for Larsson's hard-hitting thriller about a mismatched pair who teams up to solve a decades-old mystery. And the combination of Mara and Craig as that mismatched pair looks very exciting.

The teaser trailer is gripping and fast-paced, and the repeating shot of a snowy road leading up to an isolated mansion adds to the tension. It also boasts a quick shot of some side nudity, which likely is what earned the video its "red band" status. Played with tremendous urgency to Trent Reznor and Karen O's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" (remember that Reznor won an Academy Award for his score to Fincher's The Social Network), the trailer is sure to get fans of the book talking.

Hal Holbrook is one of our greatest actors who, at the age of 86, is still going strong with roles in films, on television and on stage.

Singer says her collaboration with Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj made a 'supergroup of three hot, strong women.'

Earlier this week, Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj dropped their femme-fatale-friendly remix of the Spears club track "Till the World Ends." The already fun song got super-charged thanks to Minaj's cutting verses and Ke$ha's recognizable vocals.

"I'm a massive fan of both the ladies I share the track with," K told MTV News on Wednesday at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. "I wrote 'TTWE' for Britney with [producers] Dr. Luke and Max [Martin] and she killed it and I loved it, but I just thought a supergroup of three hot, strong women could just take over the airwaves."

Ke$ha went on to give props to both the ladies. "I'm such a massive fan of Britney and I'm such a massive supporter of Nicki and a fan, and chicks sometimes don't team up. I don't know why, but I'm, like, huge on the girl power, so I just wanted to make a power girl track take over."



The remix quickly won praise from fans who seem to think the new features step up the song's game. "You know, with the three of us, I wasn't necessarily surprised [people like it] because I'm such a massive fan of Nicki Minaj and obviously with Britney I'm a fan of it, [taking] myself out of the equation," she said. "I'm just happy people like it."



So did Ke$ha (who once sang backup for Spears) feel any pressure writing a song for Britney? "There was no pressure. Writing for somebody else is really fun 'cause I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost," she explained. "So it was so much fun to put my brain in the sexy Britney Spears brain and express myself almost as if I were possessed by her."
