Headed Toward the Light, Oil on RayMar panel, 6 x 6" $100 |
I painted this along with another companion piece, ironically about a week or so before the latest German Landscape Challenge. I say that because of the 'road' theme.
My husband and I were hiking the hills outside of Cambria, California where the reference for this piece was taken. The central coast is one of our favorite places. It wasn't too far up the road and we were greeted by a pair of peacocks. They are beautiful, but make the most awful, loud cry. I believe peacocks make great 'watch dogs' and are quick to sound an alert if they see or hear anything out of the ordinary. I think they can wake the dead!
